ADVANCED FOOT AND ANKLE (A.F.A.) is an IPA composed of a select network of over 60 Podiatrists distributed throughout the Chicago Metropolitan area and the State of Illinois, providing members with convenient access to the highest quality podiatric care at more than 150 locations. ADDITIONAL PODIATRISTS WILL BE ADDED AS NEEDED SECONDARY TO VOLUME OR PATIENT GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION; ALL NEW PODIATRISTS CAN BE ADDED FROM EXISTING ROSTERS OR BY DIRECT MEMBER REFERRAL.
The podiatrists of Advanced Foot and Ankle have practiced an average of 14 years; highly experienced, but also on the cutting edge of treatment modalities.
100% of A.F.A. members are on hospital staffs and hold teaching positions at post-graduate residency programs and/or the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine.
95% of the members of Advanced Foot and Ankle IPA have completed an approved residency program vs. 59% of all Podiatrists nationally and 75% of Advanced Foot and Ankle members have completed an approved two-year residency program vs. 11% of all podiatrists nationally.
95% of the members of Advanced Foot and Ankle are board certified in surgery, as compared to only 24% nationally.
100% of the members are board eligible
Non-board certified members must become board certified within three years.
Credentialling is done via NCQA standards and primary verification and have acceptable records with the National Practitioners' Data Bank.
Advanced Foot and Ankle Value Added Programs
Advanced Foot and Ankle will provide additional services, which will increase patient satisfaction and marketability:
- Home care visits (when needed) for treatment and prevention;
- Most appointments within 24 hours;
- Accessibility and availability of Podiatrist 24 hours/day;
- On-site Safety and Wellness programs; counsel employer and members on work-site safety and injury prevention suggestions and methods to safely return injured members back to work quicker, with minimal risk of re-injury;
- Worksite foot and ankle screenings and assistance in the proper fitting of workshoes/boots.
- Participation in company health fairs and screenings at no additional charge.
- Toll free "Hotline" number to answer questions from patients or primary care physicians. Will also serve as a referral service to patients.
- Educational programs for primary care physicians on appropriate timing of referrals and advances in foot care treatment.
